The small glacial lake of Roop Kund an altitude of 5, 029 meters has a rather grisly reputation.In and around it lie the skeletal remains of humans and horses and no one has been able to explain how they got there. The stories ranges all the way from that of the Goddess Nanda Devi cursing a presumptions royal couple, through misdirected conquerous seeking to entry lands beyond India, to the mundane explain that they are the remains of pilgrims killed by at avalanche. This somber stretch of water, 47 meters in diameter, rests beneath the peaks of Nandagunti and Trishul. For much of the year it is surrounded by harsh black rocks, ice and snow. The trek to this ominous lake is, However, interesting a 21 kms drive takes you from Tliarali.
At a low 393 meters to 2,134 meter high Mandoli.From there Lohajang Pass is about 1.5 kms away. This is really where the trek begins, 12 kms will bring you to Wan at a high of 2,436 meters and another 12 kms to the beautiful Bedni Bugyal at 3,354 meters. The Bugyal's green slopes are dotted with Shepherd's huts and little shrines with pyramidal roofs. Minuscule brooks trackle into a pond which looks like a Scottish tarn. The best time of come here is last week of August to last week of October. You must have 8 days to trekking for Roopkund. It is a 40 km trek from road head.

Day 01: Delhi-Rishikesh(230 KMS/06 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Rishikesh.Upon arrival in Rishikesh,you are met and transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Evening free to explore Holy Ghats & worthseeing places.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Rishikesh -Mundoli (240 KM/8-9 HRS)
After breakfast we drive towards Mundoli via Dev Prayag, Rudra Prayag and Karanprayag. Upon arrival at Mandoli check into the tented accommodation followed by Dinner. Overnight at Camps.
Day 03: Mundoli - Wan - Bedni Bugyal (3350 MTS/11000 FT)
Early morning drive to the place called Wan which is just 10 kms away and road head for the trek as well.ToDay we will have a trek for approximate about 11 -12 kms and takes 05 to 06 hrs to get Bedni Bugyal. It is believe to say that is one of the best camping sites in the Garhwal Himalayas. Later followed by Dinner at camps. Overnight at tents.
Bedni Bugyal : Bedni Bugyal is a charming green meadow adorned with flowers in a spell binding varieties, in full bloom. There is a small lake situated in the midst of the meadow, where Tarpans are offered by the devotees. Situated nearby is a small temple where the devotees pay there obeisance, during their halt at Bedni Bugyal.

Day 05: Bedni Bugyal - Vagubassa (4100 MTS/13450 FT)
After having early breakfast in the morning trek towards Vagubassa. Bagua means flowery park and Basa means place and the place is full of variety of flowers including the rare flower called "Brahma Kamal" a special godly lotus found at only and between the altitude of 14000-15000 ft. We will trek for about 10 kms toDay it takes around 04-05 hrs to get campsite at Vagubassa. Later followed by dinner and overnight at tented accommodation.
Day 06: Vagubassa - Roopkund (4450 MTS/14600 FT) - Bedni Bugyal
Today we trek to Roopkund from Vagubassa which is an easy trek to follow upto some extent but thereafter ½ an hour climb off( 04-05 hrs) Kaluka Vinayak (pass) descending till to patar nachWani. The trek to Roopkund passes through delightful alpine pasture lands and offering penaromic views of the Trisul and Nanda Ghunti, you could view the Badrinath peaks when the snow melts. Human and equine can be seen here. Some of them with flesh attached these have been naturally preserved in the alpine condition for centuries. It is believe to say that these are the remains of about 300 person who died about 500-600 years ago. Later trek down to Bedni Bugyal followed by dinner and overnight stay.
Day 07: Bedni Bugyal - Wan ( 2436 MTS/8000 FT )
Retrace your steps towards Wan. This will take 3-4 hrs. Dinner and overnight in tents.
Day 08: Wan - Rishikesh (2200 MTS /7200 FT)
After an early breakfast drive towards Rishikesh. We will have Lunch enroute. Upon arrival in Rishikesh check into your pre-booked hotel followed by dinner. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 09: Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi
Departure transfer to the Haridwar railway station to boardtrain for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi later transferred to International Airport to board flight for your onward journey.
